| In
the final section of Module 2 you will work to
study the names of the various skeletal and muscular
structures in the body. We will focus on those
anatomical structures that will help us to understand
how the body moves.
Information can be found for
each of the following body regions in the chapter
references listed below. We are going to study
the skeletal and muscular structures in a particular
body region together. In this way we can learn
what moves, the motion, the joints involved, the
muscles doing the moving and some examples of
real life movements.
| Body
region |
Text reference |
| The shoulder |
Chapter 5 |
| The upper extremity (Elbow, forearm, wrist
and hand) |
Chapter 6 |
| The pelvis and hip |
Chapter 7 |
| The lower extremity |
Chapter 8 |
| The spine and thorax |
Chapter 9 |
You will not be responsible
to know every little part or structure. To help
you know the structures for which you are responsible
we have provided
a list for you.
For each of the major joints
of the body you are responsible for the names
of the motions that occur at the joints and the
muscle(s) that cause the motion to occur.
