NUC-3420 Radialogical, Reactor, and Environmental Safety


This course covers basic concepts and applications in health physics and environmental aspects of nuclear power generation. Topics include the biological effects of radiation, dose-rate evaluation, radiation monitoring, radiological safety, reactor effluents, and radioactive waste disposal. Students will also examine the regulations governing radiation exposure and the release of radioactivity into the environment as well as how nuclear power plants impact the environment.
