DBA-8800 Ethical Leadership and Cultural Competency in the 21st Century

This course uses an interdisciplinary approach to explore concepts related to DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) as it pertains to individuals, organizations, and society, and it will introduce students to the study of ethical leadership as a foundation for value clarification, ethical decision-making, and responsible leadership in diverse organizations and communities. Elements of ethical leadership such as cultural proficiency, social justice, equity, and privilege are examined. By studying existing models of cultural competence, students will consider the importance of cultural-specific beliefs, practices, and outcomes and their impact on equality, equity, intergroup relations/communications, and empowerment.
