DBA-9050 Seminar in Scholar-Practitioner Research
This course introduces students to the scholar-practitioner field project (SPFP). The SPFP is the capstone product of the DBA degree. This course provides students with the essential framing and foundational materials for the three culminating courses of the DBA degree: DBA-9100, DBA-9200, and DBA-9300, especially the first course (Scholar-Practitioner Field Project I). Key components of this course include a comprehensive overview of each of the three culminating courses, essential scholarly orientations and information about accepted practices associated with the scholar-practitioner approach to research, and experience with the SPFP Milestone Tracking System. The course content and the mentor guide students to identify possible business-based problems, review research methods, complete the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI), produce the field project outline, and recognize the roles and responsibilities of the Institutional Review Board.
