ORR-7100 Qualitative Methods for Organizational Research
This course equips aspiring organizational leaders with practical qualitative research skills essential for addressing complex workplace challenges. Throughout the course, students will develop expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating qualitative research studies directly applicable to professional context. Moving from philosophical foundations to hands-on development of research instruments, students will create a comprehensive, ready-to-implement research proposal addressing a significant challenge in their organization. The course ensures students gain immediately applicable skills in problem formulation, interview technique, observation strategies, and systematic analysis of narrative data. As a capstone preparation course, it provides the foundation needed to conduct meaningful organizational research that bridges academic knowledge with professional practice, positioning students to make evidence-based contributions to their organization while advancing their capabilities as a reflective scholar-practitioner.
