CYB-540 Cryptography and Data Security
Cryptography and Data Security focuses on how cryptographic protocols, tools, and techniques work and how to appropriately apply them to protect data. Topics covered include symmetric cryptography, public key cryptography, hash functions, digital signatures, key management, cryptographic modes, and cryptographic protocols. Different attacks on cryptographic systems are analyzed and the role of cryptography in data protection, data integrity, privacy, and authentication is thoroughly investigated. Students learn to protect data at rest, in process, and in transition.
