DSI-2000 Visual Storytelling with Data
This course helps students of any discipline effectively understand how to make evidence-based decisions to solve real-world problems through visual representations of data (i.e., charts, plots, maps, and diagrams). This course cultivates critical-thinking skills in an applied setting using data visualization, pattern recognition, human perception, and memory to develop usable knowledge from data in a nonmathematical framework.
Note: Students are required to have a Mac or Windows-based computer or laptop to utilize the data visualization software used in this course. Tablets and chromebooks cannot be utilized.
